Rob Pitt - Director
Rob has worked at Hotel Sorrento since its inception into his family in 1981. From the day Rob started working at Hotel Sorrento it has been a labour of love. Working excessively each year on renovations and restorations, whilst retaining an impeccable quality of service, Rob has brought the hotel up to its current awe inspiring condition. His work has combined many aspects of his life that he cherishes: family, friendship, conversation, good food and wine.
He thinks of the Limeburners Bar as his own lounge room and the rest of the Hotel as his home. To relax he loves spending time with his wife, Anne and children, Bridget, Myles and Marcus. Outside of Hotel life Rob adores relaxing at home or pusuing many of his sporting activities. A beach man at heart Rob loves surfing, swimming, sailing, boating and cycling in and around the beautiful Sorrento town he calls home!
Anne Pitt - Director
Anne's great grandmother owned several hotels, one of which was in Quambatook. Her parents, Alan and Patricia Olle owned hotels in South Yarra and Melbourne (The Prince of Wales and The Elm's Family Hotel). Anne’s involvement in each and every stage of the Hotel Sorrento's growth has been both exhilarating and challenging.
Anne enjoys walking and all creative pursuits including theatre, literature, and in particular writing poetry. Her practice of yoga, meditation and tai chi have been the backbone in her inspiration to build the Wonwondah Wellness Retreat. Anne loves spending time with her husband Rob and three beautiful children: Bridget, Myles and Marcus. She enjoys entertaining at home, together withthe company of her close extended family and wonderful friends.
Paul Harvey - Operations Manager
Paul has been a spirited member of the Hotel Sorrento team for over nine years. Starting in the kitchen as a chef, Paul has moved throughout many facets of the hotel from front of house, to duty manager and has now progressed to operations manager. He thrives on providing excellent service and takes pride in being responsible for all departments. Paul’s previous work experience includes Hayman Island in the Whitsundays, Mt Buller ski resort, the Melbourne Sofitel, the Windsor and Stamford Plaza. Paul has a passion for sailing, with aspirations to own a fifty foot Swan!
Greg Nelson – Assistant Manager
Greg has been with Hotel Sorrento since 2000. He is passionate about the hospitality industry and has some interesting insights into the human psyche since his completion of a degree in Psychology. He views communicating with his peers and customers as one of his favourite aspects within his job role. He loves the Sorrento lifestyle hitting up the beach on his days off, enjoying a round of golf or making a meal for friends.
John Zampatti – Health and Wellbeing Manager
John Zampatti has worked in the tourism and hospitality industry for the past fifteen years and has a depth of knowledge in wellness experiences. This includes Day Spa management, recreation programming and corporate team building. He has a Bachelor of Applied Science majoring in Human Movement and a Diploma of Health - majoring in Remedial Massage Therapy. He is committed to Health and Fitness and loves nothing more than taking off for a jog along the back beach, riding up Arthurs Seat on his bike or heading out on the bay for a sea kayak with the dolphins. He truly loves what he does!
Jacqui Jury – Food and Beverage Assistant
Jacqui has been with Hotel Sorrento for over two years, and was promoted to supervisor after her first year. Jacqui is passionate about the hospitality industry and loves making our guests feel special, comfortable and welcome. She is a valued member of the team and an absolute delight to be around. Jacqui's favorite pastimes are spent with friends, wining and dining, music, swimming and heading to the snow.
Karen Studd – Administration Officer
Karen started working as an administration officer at Hotel Sorrento in July 2006. Karen’s background in hospitability spans over 10 years, holding a variety of management positions. Outside the hotel, Karen’s greatest interest are animals all great and small. She is a keen member of an animal welfare organisation which works to protect animals from cruelty and exploitation all over the world.
Meryl De Graff – Conference Manager
Meryl joined the Hotel Sorrento Team in 1993. She has enjoyed working in many facets of the business from initially pouring a beer and over time, progressing into management positions. Prior to joining the team at Hotel Sorrento, Meryl travelled extensively, working in various resorts, hotels and restaurants throughout Australia. She enjoys the outdoors, travelling and leading a balanced lifestyle.
Carly Wood – Office Manager
Carly has been working at Hotel Sorrento for one year as the office manager and she “loves it”. Valuing Hotel Sorrento as a great place to work, Carly has been able to develop her skills in a nurturing environment. Recently married, Carly and her husband Sam are enjoying the renovations of their new home. Her passions are her family, friends, shopping, music, good wine and company!
Dane Johnson – Bottle Shop Manager
Dane manages the Thirsty Camel bottleshop at Hotel Sorrento. Having worked at Hotel Sorrento since 1999, Dane is an expert in beverages and is always ready to offer advice and a helping hand. His sporting interests are cycling (which he does), football (which he watches) and horseracing (which he loses money on)! Aside from sport, Dane’s interests are literature, movies, politics and history.

Lucy has been with Hotel Sorrento since September, 2005. Hailing from
Frank Jenner
Frank first began work at Hotel Sorrento, in wait for it, 1954! A genuine icon of the Hotel and local legend, Frank is our Site Manager. There is nothing Frank cannot fix. Frank recently toured Scotland and Ireland with our Sous Chef Tony, and from all accounts they had a fabulous time.
Rohan Smith
When it comes to renovation rescue, Rohan is our man. As the Hotel is continually being improved and extended, Rohan rarely has time to indulge in his favourite luxury, a cold can of VB!
