Limeburners Bar & Lounge Bar
The name Limeburners refers to our Sorrento ancestors, whom dug lime from the depths of the Sorrento soils and burnt it in kilns to expertly create the marvellous limestones that make up the structure of the hotel. The Limeburners lay claim to being the first official business operation within the Sorrento Township. Both bars overlook the Bay and provide magnificent views of Melbourne to the north, Mud Island and The Fort in the bay, The Dandenong's, Frankston and Mount Martha. From the deck it is not uncommon to see a pod of dolphins swim past or a whale come up to catch a breath. Along with nature’s visitors, you can enjoy all the action of the ferries crossing, the sea rescue helicopter landing on its nearby pad, colourful yachts cruising, and local fisherman meandering back to the jetty after a day's fishing.
Both bars provide patrons with the choice of many boutique beers, fine interstate and local wines, exquisite cocktails and great bar food, including the legendary lamb shank pie. The bars have undergone a number of renovations over the years and the result is a contemporary watering hole with a fun and relaxed atmosphere, perfect for all occasions.
